Herbert is a bit fussy, he responds quickly when conditions are perfect but changes in temperature or flour stall his growth for a day or so
Taste & flavour
- tbsp 1 orange juice
- tbsp Whole wheat flour
- g All purpose flour
- g Water
Weigh the starter, subtracting the weight of the jar. Divide in half and store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for use in recipes as sourdough discard.
Add 40g water and 40g flour
1 tablespoon of orange juice as liquid every 24hours for the first 3 days
tbsp 1 orange juice
3 tablespoons whole wheat flour every 24 hours for the first 3 days
tbsp Whole wheat flour
After 3 days, switch to AP flour. 40 grams twice daily
g All purpose flour
Water - I use my well water which is not treated. 40g. Feed once daily until active, then twice daily after that!
